The Assistant Product Marketing Manager is responsible for product management, marketing and merchandising initiatives in collaboration with the Product Marketing team to drive business unit growth and profitability. Specific responsibilities include project management, product strategy collaboration, new product / style setup, and business / market analysis.  This role is key to ensuring successful cross-functional collaboration and completion of projects accurately and timely.

Specific Responsibilities

Product Portfolio

·         Collaborate cross-functionally on new product development to support the innovation pipeline.

·         Track and verify key development processes are complete.

·         Execute item set up in the PLM system; ensure data is accurate and reflects bill of material needs.

Project Management:

·         Manage multiple product, marketing and merchandising projects to a successful and timely execution.

·         Coordinate cross-functional team meetings.

·         Manage timelines and status reports.

·         Execute merchandising strategies (e.g. instore signage, 3rd party install group) at key retailers.

·         Support execution of business plans (e.g. new program launches, product updates)

·         Participate in line reviews with accounts, includes developing presentation decks, coordinating samples, and presenting.

·         Represent Spalding and support grassroot sporting events.

Creative Projects / Process Management:

·         Execute creative projects to drive branding and business goals.

·         Initiate creative request for product, packaging, and other retail requests (e.g. instore signage, online content).

·         Presents creative outcome to Director for final approval.

Business Analytics & Reporting:

·         Compile and analyze metrics to support acheivement of goals and strategic initiatives.

·         Coordinate cross-functionally to understand product line performance, market/product trends and inventory positions.

Product Planning and Positioning:

·         Provide input on product messaging and appropriate channel and product expansion.

·         Collaborate with Brand Communications to execute product content plans.

P&L / Budget:

·         Support P&L creation for business needs and projects (i.e. new styles and program offerings).

·         Track assigned budgets; process vendor payments.

Market Research/Competitive Intelligence:

·         Research market and competitor information to report internally to development and sales teams.

·         Work with Consumer Insights team to deliever research results to support short and long range initiaves.

·         In conjunction with Product development, conduct product performance reviews through various testing methods.

·         Execute market research projects where needed.
