Job Summary
The Department of Biological and Health Sciences at Texas A&M University–Kingsville invites applications for a nine-month appointment for Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2025, with a terminal degree in a biomedically relevant area. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching human anatomy and physiology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, maintain an active research program, and serve in the continuing development of our departmental programs.
Required Qualifications
+ Hold a Ph.D. in a field related to the biomedical sciences.
+ Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate and graduate education
+ Experience with involving undergraduate and graduate students in research.
+ Experience with teaching lecture-lab courses in anatomy, physiology, and related topics.
Successful candidates will be expected to:
+ Promote high standards of academic achievement and integrity in assigned courses.
+ Teach undergraduate courses related to human anatomy and physiology and preferred courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
+ Develop courses related to their professional discipline in support of the Biomedical Sciences program, including pre-professional students, pre-nursing students, and other academic tracks.
+ Establish a research laboratory and conduct research while mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Applying for internal and external research support is expected.
+ Work with colleagues to enhance and improve existing programs and develop new academic initiatives, as applicable.
+ Serve on University, College, and Departmental committees.
Preferred Qualifications
The Department supports a wide variety of research and teaching scholars and has a strong interest in growing and maintaining the Biomedical Sciences program. Preferred qualifications for a successful candidate include:
+ Experience teaching introductory biology, human anatomy & physiology.
+ Incorporating technology and hands-on learning into the classroom and laboratory setting.
+ Research experience involving undergraduate and graduate students.
+ Experience with building and managing academic programs, writing grant proposals, and recruiting students will be considered additional assets.
