Assistant Professor, Radiology Services

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Director of Interventional Radiology, the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas
The Department of Radiology has an opening for a full time Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Radiology to join the section as Director of Interventional Radiology. Candidates must be certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, have a least one year of Interventional Radiology experience, have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate abilities for teaching and a strong interest or background in academic radiology. Experience preferred in interventional oncology, dialysis access maintenance, peripheral vascular intervention, treatment of portal hypertension (TIPS and BRTO) and renal/liver transplant procedures.
Infrastructure in the Radiology Department includes 4 Hospitals, 10 interventional suites, several multidetector CT scanners and multiple high field MR systems. UTMB completed a new hospital in 2014 which contains a GE Revolution CT scanner for imaging and intervention. In addition, there is a 3T intraoperative MRI available for MRI interventional procedures and research.  UTMB collaborates with MD Anderson Cancer Center at our League City campus. The IR section has 6 members currently performing about 10,000 procedures per year and growing at about 6% annually. UTMB has accredited Integrated, Independent and ESIR residency programs with 6 residents rotating every year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MD or DO

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of Interventional Radiology experience.

 

SALARY: 
Commensurate with experience.
