The Department of Social Work and I-System for Transdisciplinary Studies at Utah State University (USU) invites applications for a 12-month, appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. Located at the USU flagship campus in Logan, Utah, this position is designed to reinforce USU’s institutional priorities as a land-grant, public service university.

This appointment, in the USU Department of Social Work, has a start date of August 1, 2025. This position has a role assignment of 70% teaching, 20% administration, and 10% service.

ResponsibilitiesAssociate Director Role:
Assist the I-System Institute for Transdisciplinary Studies (ISITS) Director in accomplishing the Institute’s mission. Duties include:
• Teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate students
• Coordinating projects as assigned by the Director, including the clinical certification program, conferences, education, training, etc.
• Supporting ISITS research and evaluation efforts
• Building strong working partnerships within USU, with other universities and the community
• Securing resources for ISITS
• Providing clinical services
• Other duties as assigned by the ISITS Director
Field Practicum Faculty Role:
Support the Social Work Department’s Field Education program. Duties include:
• Supervising MSW students placed in agencies in the Cache County area.
• Teaching an integrative field practicum seminar during the fall and spring semesters
Minimum Qualifications
• Earned master’s degree in social work
• Certification in Mind-Body Bridging
• Utah Clinical Social Worker License (LCSW)
• Commitment to excellence in program coordination and development
• Ability to build and enhance relationships with all stakeholders
• Commitment to promoting diversity and equal opportunity within the workplace
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of current and evolving trends in Mind-Body Bridging
• Experience with delivery of Mind-Body Bridging training and certification
• Demonstrated success in the management of budgets and fiscal resources and supervision of employees
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a complex work environment
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative and respond to significant challenges
Preferred Qualifications
• Record of administrative responsibilities related to program coordination
• Experience in the development of collaborative partnerships with law enforcement
• Experience with delivery of Mind-Body Bridging training to law enforcement
• MSW field education supervisory experience
