We are inviting applications for three full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. These positions have anticipated start dates of July 1, 2025. We are seeking candidates in the areas of Immunology (Cancer, autoimmunity, mucosal immunology, neuroimmunology, and infectious disease), or computational biology (focus on virology / infectious diseases / immunology / autoimmunity). The faculty member will be expected to maintain excellence in scholarship; initiate and sustain externally sponsored research programs; build collaborative networks across the University of Florida Health Science Center; teach graduate courses within the curricula with an opportunity to develop novel courses to bolster the education of our students; recruit and supervise graduate students; and engage in service activities for the University and the profession. Candidates are expected to demonstrate dedication to excellence in scholarly achievements with evidence of proposal writing, student mentoring, and classroom teaching. The Department of Infectious Disease and Immunology is recognized for academic excellence with a broad focus on understanding foundational mechanisms of immunity and host pathogen interactions to translational biology in diagnostics and therapeutics. Scientists within the department have expertise in disease modeling, microbiology, virology, molecular and cell biology, immunity, genetics, experimental therapeutics, and development of diagnostics with significant federal funding through the NIH, CDC, USDA, and DOD. Faculty have access to all facets of the health science center and extensive collaborations with the Emerging Pathogens Institute, Diabetes Institute, Genetics Institute, Center for Immunology and Transplantation, Center for Inflammation and Mucosal Immunology, Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center, and the Center for Orphaned Autoimmune Disorders exist. Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
