Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure Clinician Educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on cardiothoracic anesthesiology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification with subspeciality certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pennsylvania licensure are required.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching both in our formal didactic lecture program as well as in the informal teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas.
Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care and medical direction in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and procedural areas. Primary practice is located at the Philadelphia campus of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
In addition to excellence in teaching and clinical care, responsibilities include investigator-initiated and collaborative research. The non-tenure Clinician Educator track involves a substantial commitment to research. Evidence of continuous scholarly productivity reflecting a defined focus will be required.
