Position Summary
This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track undergraduate faculty position (100% teaching) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interests and ability to teach courses in human anatomy, human physiology, biomechanics/functional kinesiology and other classes dependent on expertise and department needs. Opportunities exist for optional summer employment through teaching, research grants, internship supervision and other funding sources.
Responsibilities
+ Teach the equivalent of 12 credits per semester in the exercise and sport science program with areas of expertise in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and Biomechanics/Anatomical Kinesiology. Other courses as dependent on need and ability
+ Advise undergraduate students
+ Engage in research or other scholarly activity
+ Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications:
+ Doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or closely related field ( ABD with a confirmed completion date prior to the start of employment will be considered).
+ Demonstrated potential for research and scholarly activity.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at the college level preferred.
+ ACSM EP-C certification level is preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students.
+ Experience using technology in the classroom.
+ Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
