The University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) invites applications for an appointment stream, non-tenure, faculty position in the Department of Dental Anesthesiology at the Assistant Professor level. The candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree and be eligible for board certification, or be board certified, by the American Board of Dental Anesthesiology. The candidate must possess or be eligible to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, have an area of clinical excellence, and have an interest in mentoring.
We are seeking an outstanding individual with excellent leadership skills to contribute to all aspects of our enterprise, including the clinical practice, our educational programs, and the research impact of our institution. The primary responsibilities will include leading and contributing to the vision of the Department, didactic, and clinical instruction of students and residents, scholarly activities, interdisciplinary care, and participation in the delivery of cutting-edge dental anesthesiology care across all of our clinics. Participation in the faculty practice is also expected. Favorable consideration will be given to those with collaborative leadership skills, additional expertise, and training credentials such as a dual specialty certification, PhD, fellowship qualification, or other advanced degrees. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials. Desirable candidates will have substantial experience as a scholar, unique clinical talents, and proven leadership skills.
