Position Title:Assistant Professor in Exercise Psychology Appointment Type:Faculty Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Iowa State University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position from individuals with expertise in exercise psychology, behavioral interventions, or related clinical / public health applications of Kinesiology. The Department has built capacity in behaviorally-focused, clinical, and translational research and seeks to attract a colleague with expertise in behavioral research to further strengthen and collaborate in this research area. Faculty in this area have active federal funding (NIH and CDC) and the collaborative opportunities are further enhanced by a formalized partnership between the ISU Translational Research Network (U-TuRN) and the Iowa Community HUB, a statewide community care hub focused on disseminating evidence-based programs through clinical / community partnerships. The person who fills this position is expected to develop an externally funded research program, publish in scholarly journals, integrate expertise into teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provide relevant University and professional service. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that their research and teaching expertise will complement and extend the expertise in exercise psychology now available within the Department of Kinesiology.
