Assistant Professor (N-T Trk Clin), Internal Med-General Medicine

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The physician will provide care to patients of the General Medicine practice in the ambulatory setting in an independent manner. The physician will serve as the primary care clinician to patients cared for by the Division of General Internal Medicine.  Expected duties are seven sessions (half days) per week of face-to-face clinical practice, one session per week of telehealth/coordination of care, and two sessions per week for patient portal management.  For the experienced medical educator, supervision of Internal Medicine Resident Precept clinic may be considered in lieu of independent practice sessions.
In addition to the primary ambulatory practice, physicians will also participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, interns, residents, and fellows when assigned to the ambulatory medicine rotation.  As a member of the Division of General Medicine and the John Sealy School of Medicine, participation in departmental meetings, committee meetings; and other scholarly activities is expected.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MD/DO degree, Completion of Internal Medicine Residency from an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine program. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.


SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
