Hybrid or On Campus On Campus Position Summary The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience. This position will support both our Neuroscience and Psychology Majors. Principal responsibilities will include teaching courses in Introduction to Neuroscience, Physiological Psychology, either Behavioral Statistics or Research Methods, and developing new neuroscience courses within the candidate’s specific area of expertise. Candidates are expected to develop an undergraduate neuroscience research program within their area of expertise that complements existing faculty strengths in behavioral and developmental neuroscience. In Spring 2026, UW-River Falls will open a new Science and Technology Innovation Center (SciTech) (https://www.uwrf.edu/university-advancement/science-and-technology-innovation-center) that will house Psychological Sciences as well as Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Departmental facilities include dedicated spaces and equipment for human neuroimaging ( EEG ), behavioral analysis, wet lab, histology, vivarium, automated rodent behavioral testing/tracking, light microscopy, 3D neural reconstruction, and more. Other facilities include laboratory teaching space, inter-department space for histology/microscopy (wet lab, scanning electron microscopy, laser scanning confocal), and a University Business Collaboration Center with makerspace, collaboration areas, and more. Faculty are expected to advise students and provide service to the department and university. In particular, candidates are expected to help in the growth and development of the undergraduate neuroscience program. The position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position, with a teaching load of twelve credits per semester. The appointment begins August 25, 2025. Compensation is based on qualifications, including education and experience.
