Assistant Professor/Non-Doctoral Ethics
Overview Expected pay for this position is $33.91 - $48.51/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for College of Nursing students in the nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for patients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the College of Nursing’s total educational programs. Acts as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Ethics, theology, theological ethics or related field Evidence of continued self-development within the profession A Catholic, who accepts and supports the moral teachings of the Catholic Church Competently teaches the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services Engages personal interactions with openness and compassion. Behavior reflecting “Code of Ethics for Nurses” (American Nurses Association, 2008) Organizational skills along with strong communication and teaching skills Continues to increase knowledge base through advanced academic preparation and continuing education Meets annual and long-term goals for professional development and personal growth Mission and Regulatory (e.g., JCAHO, OSHA) requirements per OSF SFMC Workshops and conferences as needed for continued licensure Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software and higher education online learning platforms PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate or evidence of official enrollment in a doctoral program Baccalaureate or graduate education teaching experience OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
