Contract Type MUS If other, please specify Recruitment Type Open Position Details General Statement The College of Education, Health and Human Development (EHHD) consists of four separate departments: 1) Education, 2) Counseling, 3) Food Systems, Nutrition, and Kinesiology (FSNK), and 4) Human Development and Community Health (HDCH). The HDCH department has three primary programs: Community Health, Human Development and Family Science, and P-3 Education. Duties and Responsibilities Expertise in community health/public health research, scientific writing for a variety of audiences, and oral presentation skills are essential. The successful candidate will teach a 2-3 load in the Community Health undergraduate program (courses to be taught will depend on the successful candidate’s skills/background and departmental teaching needs). In addition to the teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will develop/sustain a research agenda and serve as the academic advisor (or on the committees for) graduate students in both the Community Health MS program and the Indigenous and Rural Health PhD program. Service responsibilities include departmental engagement, participation in professional societies, and engagement with the community consistent with the missions of a Land Grant University. We hope to attract applicants who are committed to helping students from varied backgrounds succeed. Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Doctorate in Community Health, Public Health or related field (ABD nearing completion considered for Assistant Professor). Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in community health or related field and a proven ability to be an effective instructor. Record of, or the potential to develop, an independent research program in the community health field. Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Proven ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary fashion through teaching, research and service/outreach efforts with faculty in other health-related disciplines and/or community health-related organizations/entities. Experience working with varied audiences on research, program planning and/or community health evaluation The Successful Candidate Will The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrate the ability to build innovative teaching and research programs, and have the ability to work effectively across disciplines and populations.
