The School of Exercise Science and Sport is accepting applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, to begin on August 1, 2025. Qualified candidates will hold a doctoral degree in Exercise Science or a related discipline conferred before August 2025 and demonstrate experience commensurate with the industry.

Responsibilities include providing quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate courses which could include but are not limited to Biomechanics, Growth and Development, Introduction to Physical Education, Mind Body Health, Personal Training, Strength and Conditioning, as well as practicums and internships. Teaching responsibilities also include advising students on degree completion, research participation, and supporting their progression to graduate programs or post-graduate success.

The position requires developing a research agenda that results in nationally refereed publications and presentations, while collaborating on scholarly projects with faculty and students. Community service is also part of the position, helping to enhance performance learning opportunities for students. Additionally, the role requires contributing to the overall operation of the institution by participating in activities at the School, College, and University levels, serving on committees, and engaging with professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

A doctoral degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered, but an expected doctoral completion date of January 1, 2026, or before, is required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
