Assistant Professor of Geography (Nature-Society)

As part of a cluster hire in “Environment and Justice”, the Department of Geography at UCLA invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor for a human geographer working in nature/society or human/environment geography, broadly understood. We welcome international applicants as well as scholars doing research outside the US. Applications must hold a PhD in Geography or related discipline at the time of appointment.
Appointment will begin July 1, 2025. The posted UC Salary Scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Table #1. The salary range for this position is $78,200-$101,400. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
