Job Title Assistant Professor of History Agency Texas A&M University - Texarkana Department CASE - Humanities (English, MC, History) Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Texarkana, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description The Division of Humanities at Texas A&M University – Texarkana invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of History to join our faculty beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. The curriculum in History includes B.S. and M.S. degree-granting programs . The teaching load is 12 SCH per semester. The History program will expect the successful candidate to teach core-curriculum survey courses, a few upper-division courses, and poss ibly a gra duate course in the span of an academic year. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Possess a Ph.D. in History ( in hand at time of appointment). + Experience using Canvas or similar LMS. + Ability to a dvise and mentor History majors in the department. + Participate in departmental, collegiate, and university activities and governance. + Work collaboratively with faculty in program development and across disciplines. + Contribute to curriculum and course development. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: + Experience teaching survey courses in United States history and World Civilizations. + Ability to teach courses in European history and history of the ancient world. + Demonstrated evidence of the ability to teach across a range of modalities (face to face, asynchronous online, hybrid, synchronous online). + Experience teaching and advising first-generation students SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL: + This position does not supervise employees.
