Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Educational Leadership at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte
invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Learning, Design and Technology position
within the department of Educational Leadership. This is a nine-month, tenure track faculty
position.
The Learning, Design and Technology ( LDT ) programs include:
● An award-winning M.Ed. and graduate certificate in LDT with three concentrations

● A post-master’s certificate in university and college teaching

teaching)
● An LDT concentration in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership

● An LDT concentration in the Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction

These programs prepare professionals to hold learning, design and technology positions in the
areas of K-12, higher education, corporate, government, and military settings. Teaching will be
in a 100% online asynchronous format.
Responsibilities: (1) designing and teaching online graduate courses, (2) engaging in an active
research and publication agenda and seeking extramural support, (3) providing impactful service
to the college of education, university, community, and profession, (4) advising and mentoring
master’s and/or doctoral students, (5) collaborating with the LDT faculty to coordinate and direct
the various LDT programs.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

and schools and who are successful in urban and other diverse settings.
Required Qualifications. The successful candidate will teach in the LDT graduate programs,
conduct research and provide service. Required qualifications include:
1. An earned doctorate degree in Learning, Design and Technology or a closely related field
from an accredited university. ( ABD candidates are invited to submit if the degree will be
earned before the appointment begins in August 2025).
2. An established and active research agenda as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in
Learning, Design and Technology, preferably in training and development.
3. Expertise in research methods and desire to mentor LDT doctorate students in research
projects
4. Demonstrated excellence in teaching asynchronous online graduate level courses at the
college or university level.
5. Professional-level design and technology skills required to advise and mentor LDT
graduate students.
6. Experience serving as a reviewer for academic journals
