Posting Number: 20241154F Position Title: Assistant Professor of Mathematics Position Type: Faculty Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/9-months Department: 185-Mathematics & Statistics Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Villanova University invites applications for two tenure track positions in Mathematics with the rank of Assistant Professor. The positions begin in August 2025. The teaching load is 12 credits for the first year with a standard load of 15 credits per year afterwards. Candidates from all areas of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and related fields such as Operations Research and Mathematical Physics are invited to apply. For one position, preference will be given to candidates with research interests broadly in analysis or applied math.

Our department currently has 42 full-time faculty members across mathematics and statistics and is known for its collegiality. Establish and maintain a research program in your area of expertise. Be an active member of the department, the Villanova community, and the profession. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or a related field (or near completion).


Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrable commitment to excellence in teaching as evidenced in the Statement of Teaching Philosophy. Demonstrable commitment to excellence in research as evidenced in the Statement of Research Interests. One position is reserved for an applicant whose research is in analysis, applied math, or a closely related area.
