Posting Details Job Title Assistant Professor of Statistics (Tenure Track) Department MATHEMATICS & STATISTICS Position Number F0874A1 Job Description The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Old Dominion University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor position specializing in Statistics to begin in Fall 2025. This is an annual, 10-month tenure track appointment. We are specifically seeking applicants with research expertise in Statistics or Biostatistics. However, exceptional candidates in related fields that complement and enhance existing research groups in Statistics or Data Science will also be considered. This Assistant Professor will teach core statistics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, pursue external funding, and publish in top-tier academic journals in statistics and biostatistics. The position carries a teaching load of 2 courses/semester with a reduced course load during the first two years. Additional responsibilities include: + Mentoring undergraduate students, + Advising graduate theses. + Participating in departmental and university service. Collaborative, interdisciplinary research with other faculty at ODU is also encouraged.
