University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Medicine and Dentistry: Surgery: Surgery: Acute Care **Salary Range or Pay Grade** Asst Professor $375,000 - $425,000 Associate Professor $465,000 - $510,000 **Description** The Department of Surgery at the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial Hospital, located in Rochester New York, seeks a full-time faculty member to join the growing and diverse Division of Acute Care Surgery and Trauma. The successful applicant will join eight fellowship trained, board certified surgeons in the practice of Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency General Surgery. Candidates must be BE/BC and must be eligible for faculty appointment at the assistant or associate professor level. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to patient care, education, and research. Opportunities for clinical and scientific collaboration are plentiful. The Division is actively involved in community outreach and education on many levels and is home to an ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care fellowship. Strong Memorial Hospital is a 940-bed, tertiary care referral center serving Rochester and the surrounding Finger Lakes Region of New York State. As the primary teaching hospital for the University of Rochester School of Medicine, Strong Memorial Hospital offers care in 40 different specialties and is ranked as one of "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report. The ACS verified Level I Trauma Center provides care for >3000 injured patients annually.
