Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant Professor of Violin Department MGSA - Music Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary The Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Violin. We seek an accomplished, dedicated, and inspiring artist/teacher to join our string faculty and continue building a robust and vibrant undergraduate violin program within the diverse environment of a large public research university. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of professional activity that includes and transcends the traditional canon. We are searching for an innovative role model with a strong pedagogical background and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive artistic excellence.

The duties for the position include:

• Teaching violin majors in performance and music education concentrations.

• Recruit and retain a robust undergraduate violin studio.

• Coach chamber music ensembles.

• Design and develop curricula and/or programs that incorporate diverse repertoire and performing experiences within and beyond the traditional canon.

• Maintain an active artistic profile, nationally/internationally.

• Collaborate with faculty and students within the Department of Music, as well as with other departments and organizations both on and off-campus; facilitate interdisciplinary projects and performances.

• Engage in service activities within the Department of Music, the School, the University, and the local musical community. Participate in committees, student advising, and other departmental responsibilities.
