Position Summary The School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice to start August 1, 2025. We seek an artist/teacher with experience working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate is a highly accomplished and versatile musician-teacher dedicated to access and excellence for all students. They will be a skilled and successful teacher of undergraduate and graduate students and will fulfill duties and responsibilities commensurate with academic positions at a leading institution. The successful candidate will teach studio voice lessons in a variety of styles and genres, including but not limited to art song, opera, popular music, commercial/contemporary music, musical theatre, gospel, and/or jazz. As a member of the School of Music faculty, the Assistant Professor of Voice will contribute to ongoing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in the school.

Minimum Qualifications Master of Music degree Significant performance experience in a variety of genres and musical styles Experience teaching voice at the undergraduate level Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a team member at UNCG. Preferred Qualifications DMA or equivalent professional experience Experience teaching voice at the graduate level Emerging national reputation in teaching, performance and/or scholarship Ability to teach other coursework (such as Diction, Literature, Pedagogy, etc.) depending on the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the department Experience in entrepreneurship and career development Demonstrated experience in advancing equity and inclusivity in teaching and professional/creative practice, and experience mentoring diverse populations of students.
