**Major/Essential Functions:**
+ Supervises and teaches residents and medical students in classroom and clinical settings
+ Provides patient care in the inpatient and outpatient settings affiliated with a Level 1 Trauma Center
+ Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
+ Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
+ Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
+ Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
+ Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

**Required Qualifications:**
+ M.D. or D.O degree
+ A) Successful completion of an ACGME- accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, or
+ B) For truly exceptional academic orthopaedic surgeons who have received graduate medical education outside the United States or Canada, completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program with documentation of eligibility for board certification through the Academic Pathway for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
+ Successful completion of an ACGME or POSNA-accredited Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship Program
+ Texas medical license, or eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
