**FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT**
The Department of Anthropology and Interdisciplinary Programs in the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership (the division of social sciences) at The City College of New York (CCNY-CUNY) invites applications for a full-time, tenureĀ track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies to begin in Fall 2025.
We seek a scholar whose intersectional research and teaching focuses on the history of gender and sexuality in the United States. We are particularly interested in scholars whose research explores these issues with an attention to social movements, the history of science, including the history of activism around health justice. The successful candidate must be able to teach introductory and advanced courses in the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the minor in Health Justice, and for the Leadership for Democracy and Social Justice Institute. Preference will be given to candidates whose scholarship and teaching combine social justice advocacy with theory.
Responsibilities and commitments include teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and working collaboratively in service to the Department, the School, and the College. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for research and share responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative and other functions. The ideal candidate will also share the Department's commitment to social justice and to public scholarship around questions of race, gender, sexuality, ability, citizenship, and globalization.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Ph.D. in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, History, Anthropology, or related field
**COMPENSATION**
Salary Range: $86,645 - $93,134
Salary commensurate with experience
