YAI has an opening for an Assistant Program Director for the START program. The Assistant Program Director over-sees operations of the clinical team and therapeutic supports operations. Directly supervises team leaders, assists the program director with the development of community linkages, and systemic collaboration.
Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
+ Provide s leadership and direct administrative supervision to START Clinical and Therapeutic Team Leaders in assigned region , regularly a ssessing program operations, needs and team performance ; pr ov id es feedback and ensur es timely completion of performance evaluations.
+ Regularly monitors and ensures that Clinical and Therapeutic Teams in assigned region to ensure they are meeting applicable requirements and quotas through day-to-day oversight of caseload assignment s, ensuring appropriate frequency , timelines s and type of engagement and community outreach, completion of required assessments and evaluations , and completion of discharges within established timelines.
+ Assigns and distributes appropriate caseloads across assigned region , ensuring appropriate staffing and availability to meet START/CSIDD requirements for engagements and assessments ; participates in the creat ion and maintenance of 24/7 on-call staffing schedule to ensure necessary co verage for START participants .
+ Performs all duties of team leaders, as needed and in order to ensure fidelity to the START model; p rovides coverage and direct supervision to START Team (s) in the absence of a supervisor , including on-site, as needed.
+ Ensures that assigned region provides START services and supports in fidelity to the START model and ensures compliance with all other applicable F ederal, S tate, L ocal and/or oversight agency rules, regulations and guidelines ; p articipates in meetings and case conferences with the clinical team , as needed to ensure START model fidelity or to address or escalate concerns with clinical interventions .
+ O versees and ensures appropriate and timely completion and maintenance of all paperwork and records, establishment of community linkages, resolution of concerns, reporting of i ncidents, responses to requests from state agencies for data and program information , etc. for assigned region .
+ Monitors completion of all necessary training s for staff across assigned region , to ensure compliance with YAI policies , timelines and all applicable rules or regulations .
+ E nsure s accurate , complete and timely entries , notes and documentation for all billable services for the region’s START service s .
+ Monitors assigned region to ensure that all data is entered contemporaneously and accurately into START Information Reporting System and Ever o , regularly run ning reports and collec ting data to support and inform programmatic decision-making by START l eadership team.
+ Ensur es that START facilities in assigned region are in operational order and are maintained , escalating issues and/or safety concerns to appropriate maintenance staff and/or management in a timely manner .
+ Regularly e valuate s and monitor s program needs, identify ing unmet needs and collaborat ing with the appropriate START leadership and Team Leaders to develop solutions and implement revisions to correct issues or deficiencies to ensure needs are met.
+ C onducts regular regional staff meetings to maintain awareness of operations, concerns and changes and/or to share updates or other information and ensures weekly group supervision through participating in Clinical Team Meeting .
+ May p articipate in YAI Program Operations, Development and other organization-wide meetings as requested and/or on behalf of program leadership ; collaborate s with YAI H eadquarters a nd support departments (Finance, IT, HR , etc.) as needed .
+ Attends YAI, NCSS leadership, and other START and program operation meetings and/or trainings as required or requested ; may represent YAI/START or present on assigned START programs at the request of YAI START leadership.
+ Establishes community partnerships , develop ing and maintaining linkages and relationships with community stakeholders .
+ Serves as Administrator-on-Call (Available/On Call Supervisor) on a regular, rotating basis with other program leadership and p rovides coverage participating in 24/7 on-call crisis support , if needed.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities ( e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) Minimum requirements of specific positions may vary by assigned function and/or contract. Please refer to applicable regulations/contracts for all position requirements .
+ Master’s Degree in Social Work , Psychology, Education, or another Human Services field ; and
+ Five (5) or more years of experience in START or similar I/DD and mental health support program ( s ) working with individuals with cooccurring diagnoses , including or supplemented by at least two (2) years of supervising staff ; and
+ Must hold or successfully complete START Coordinator Certification training within 6 – 12 months of appointment , including demonstration of competencies in all associated areas ; and
+ Ability to regularly travel across assigned region and to occasionally travel across other regions within state of operations and/or to other states as needed for meetings, NCSS events or as requested .
+ Ability to respond to calls and programmatic needs 24/7 as Administrator-on-Call on a regularly scheduled/recurring basis and whe n needed to provide back-up coverage for crisis services to support programs under supervision .
+ Ability to work in a stressful environment and to support teams with behavioral/mental health crises as they occur.
+ Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and cooccurring behavioral/mental health diagnoses
+ K nowledge of NYS OPWDD/CSIDD and NCSS START regulations .
+ Exceptional communication and presentation/training skills.
+ Exceptional supervisory and leadership skills including the ability to manage, coach, support and develop large START teams.
+ Highly organized , flexible and able to manage time and work autonomously to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a team envir o nment .
Preferred Qualification Requirements ( desired requirements beyond MQRs above)
+ Three ( 3 ) or more years of experience supervising multiple teams
+ Current START Coordinator Certification
+ Valid Driver's License highly preferred for assignments in areas with limited public transportatio n
Compensation:
+ $66 ,105.00
