Tetra Tech is currently seeking an entry-level engineer to support our Northern California Team. While the selected individual will be able to work from home, they must be located in California for intermittent field work. Those located in the Bay Area or LA Area are preferred, due to our current field site locations. This position includes work on projects containing the following areas of civil/mechanical/environmental engineering: renewable energy/beneficial use, solid waste management, liquid and gas pipeline design, landfill gas control and monitoring, waste diversion, organics processing, air quality testing and emissions, thermodynamics, topographic plans, environmental regulations, and environmental monitoring. This role will also involve basic mechanical systems, drafting (AutoCAD/Civil 3D), cost estimation, specifications, report preparation (Word/Excel), and construction quality management. The pay range for this position is $66,560-$80,000, based on qualifications and experience. Only those that attach a cover letter will be considered.
Your Role:
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, environmental data, and aerial photographs for landfills Prepare landfill gas monitoring plans Prepare biogas/renewable energy, organics management, biogas treatment, and landfill gas piping plans and specifications Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD or Civil 3D Prepare construction cost estimations Collect and/or review environmental monitoring data (i.e. air, gas, groundwater) Prepare environmental and technical reports based off data collected or construction events observed Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Civil, Geological, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering required Valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain a valid driver's license prior to starting required 0-2 years of previous experience in a Civil, Geological, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental engineering role and/or masters degree in Civil, Geological, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering AutoCAD/Civil 3D or GIS skills 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification Experience in landfill design, organics, waste diversion, renewable energy/beneficial use, landfill gas system design or operations, permitting or environmental monitoring as well as knowledge of environmental regulations Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or Professional Engineering License Experience of the Microsoft Office software suite, and PDF editors (Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat)Benefits:
