Assistant Project Manager

In this role, you will be a member our rapidly growing Program & Project Management team. The PM team's standard is to 'manage each project like we own it'. We are unique in that we provide in-house cost management and project scheduling along with program and project management, in a fully integrated package. We are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support public works projects in San Francisco through the Peninsula, extending down to Santa Clara. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier higher educational and municipality facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist the project management team with various parts of the project such as constructability review, value engineering, pay app reviews, schedule development, FF&E program development and execution. Assist in formulating the design, bid, and project phase of scheduling. Assist in the Addenda and Bid process. Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct pre-bid and job start meetings. Monitor contract compliance and report concerns to Project Manager. Under the supervision of Project Manager, facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes. Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies are received and documented. Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct close out activities and assist with building occupancy. Prepares field reporting for review by Project Manager. Perform QA/QC process. Review change orders for completeness and conformance to company and client standards. Review RFIs/Submittals for completeness before distribution to design team. Provide basic CPM scheduling and budget management. Review and maintain As Built drawings. 

Knowledge & Skills Required:

Diverse sector experience, including life sciences, institutional or commercial experience.Utilize effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company. Demonstrate an understanding of how project documentation impacts the project flow. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently. Demonstrate sound judgement and logical decision making skills. Understand how your role contributes to the organization's goals. Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values. Hold self accountable to individual and team goals. Consistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients. Build relationships with peers, leaders, and clients. Proactively participate in self-development to continually enhance current skills and build new skills required to excel at current role and prepare for career progression. Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field 

Experience: 3+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management, ideally in life sciences or bio-pharma
