Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team for the IU Hospital Site Improvements project. This role involves assisting the Sr. Project Manager (SPM) and Project Manager (PM) in the civil development of approximately 40 acres, including utilities, roadways, sidewalks, site concrete, site furnishings, and landscaping.
Responsibilities
+ Change Management: Review documents, coordinate with subcontractors, compile Requests for Change (RFC) for PM review.
+ Scheduling: Assist the PM with data entry and periodic updates. Provide monthly schedule updates to a 3rd party advisor. Prepare a 6-week look-ahead every 2 weeks.
+ Procore Management: Handle documentation and processes to support PM and Project Engineer (PE) procedures.
+ Quality Assurance: Assist in field investigations and documentation to ensure project standards are met.
+ Project Planning: Assist in developing and maintaining a detailed project plan, including tasks for roadways, parking lots, retention pond, greenspaces, two quads, utilities, and landscaping.
+ Subcontractor Coordination: Support the management of subcontractors, ensuring they understand their responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.
+ Site Supervision: Assist in overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
+ Communication: Act as a secondary point of contact for project stakeholders, including property owners, architects, engineers, and city officials.
+ Problem Solving: Help identify and resolve issues or obstacles that arise during the construction process and assist with toolbox talks.
+ Quality Control: Assist in inspecting work performed by subcontractors to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
+ Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local building codes and OSHA safety regulations.
+ Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status to project stakeholders, including progress made, issues encountered, and estimated completion dates.
+ Budget Management: Assist in monitoring project costs to ensure the project stays within budget.
+ Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including changes in scope, costs, and timelines.
+ Collaboration with PM and Senior PM: Work closely with the Senior Superintendent to understand the project’s overall vision and specific goals.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to handle 5 to 9 contracts simultaneously.
+ 2+ years in a project management role with a college degree, or 5 years without a college degree.
+ 1 year experience with roadway construction.
+ 1 year experience with utility installation.
+ 1 year experience with greenspace/landscaping.
+ Experience with earthmoving equipment.
+ Experience with construction scheduling.
+ Experience with quality, assisting in field investigations and documentation.
+ Proficiency in Construction Management Software such as Procore.
+ OSHA 30 certification.
Work Environment
This position requires working 5 days on-site, 8-10 hours per day, with every other Saturday as a workday. The work will be conducted in a jobsite trailer. All necessary technology will be provided. The role offers a salary up to $97,000 with a guaranteed 2% increase for 2026, and 10 holidays including the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. It is a 2-year contract position (31 months) working on a large and prestigious project for Indiana University Healthcare.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $97000.00
