Assistant Project Manager
Assist the Project Managers with various tasks associated with project delivery (scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, information management) on multiple project assignments. Manage project development from programming (Scope to Budget) through completion (Closeout). Review and provide comments on Design phase submissions to ensure Construction documents follow owner and/or stakeholder requirements. Assist in scheduling meetings and prepares meeting notes. Assist in managing budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures and controls for assigned projects. Coordinate with Project Controls team to ensure all consultants are onboard before start of project. Review and provide comments on consultant and contractor pay applications and change orders. Attend meetings and assures that meeting minutes during design and construction are issued by A/E. Manage Hazmat consultant and abatement process. During construction, responsible for maintaining Jacobs’ relationship with Client Principal and staff daily. Responsible for coordination of all consultant and contractor activity at each jobsite. Responsible to assure coordination between hazmat consultants/hazmat contractors and base building A/E and base building contractor. Confirm that the A/E and GC expedite the submittal, review and approval of shop drawings, requests for information and change orders. Provide recommendations to the Owner on using Contingency and/or creating change order based on change in scope. Analyze project schedule and provide comments to ensure it is per Contract. Prepare reports tracking progress for projects, coordinate with AE and GC to ensure on time completion. Ensure discrepancies in work reported by AE in field reports is rectified by GC. Ensure completion of 6-month and 12-month warranty items. In Lieu of the requirements listed above, employer will accept: a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field and 6 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation. SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: Project Scheduling and Analysis. Pre-Design and Pre-Construction and Construction activities. Abatement. Earned Value Management (EVM). Design and task management of K12 or Higher Ed projects. Bluebeam, Owner Insite, ProjectMates, Procore. Proficient in Microsoft office.
