What Is The Opportunity?
Aecon is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the GO Rail Expansion (RER) project, located in the Greater Toronto Area. This transformational project is the largest capital infrastructure project in Ontario’s historic GO Rail Expansion program! This role will be located at 130 Adelaide St, Toronto, to start and will shift in early 2025 to be more site based at 555 Rexdale Blvd, Etobicoke to support Woodbine.
What You Will Do Here:
Support the review of technical design documents, cost estimates, and schedules to ensure project constructability, accuracy, and alignment with benchmarks. Assist in identifying and mitigating construction risks and contributes to the Project Risk Register. Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to support overall project success and smooth coordination. Help manage procurement, budget tracking, and adherence to change procedures. Participate in project management meetings and contributes to quality, safety, and reporting standards. Build positive relationships with stakeholders and aids in the project close-out process. Demonstrate a focus on cost-effectiveness and supports business development activities. Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Will Bring To The Team:
Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. 5-10 years' experience with ICI / Buildings Construction, exposure to civil, rail or infrastructure projects is an asset. Knowledge of various project delivery models, with experience in Progressive Design-Build (PDB) considered beneficial. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) and familiarity with scheduling and estimating software preferred. Ability to work well within a team environment and support collaborative project goals. Effective communication skills with a customer-oriented approach. A valid G level drivers license with clean drivers abstract. Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
