Summary
Perform full project lifecycle. Track working capital, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, financial targets, and financial and expense comparisons. Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications. Consult and communicate with engineers, subject matter experts, project managers, construction managers, and contractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Primary Duties
The work performed at Bay4 Energy Services is dynamic and varies day-to-day based on client requests. The following provides a list of primary duties; however, this list is not intended to be exhaustive.
Project Management
Lead or assist in leading renewable energy project evaluations and reviews. Support Bay4’s field service team through continuous improvement and training opportunities. Ensure quality, consistency, cost, and schedule deadlines of Bay4 deliverables. Manage internal commercial aspects of a project, including contracting, timesheet reviews, etc. Work with clients to estimate projects while interfacing with scheduling and procurement. Interface directly with clients as a primary point of contact, keeping a professional and client-services focus. Represent Bay4 Energy Services in business development activities, including pursuing new clients and participating in the proposal process. Technical Review Evaluate projects in development, under construction, in operation or in redevelopment. Manage or assist in managing the review of design documents to verify renewable energy projects are designed according to industry standards. Develop and expand knowledge regarding each of the technical and commercial components of a project, including project contracts and financials. Continue to develop hands on experience by supporting field engineering services as required. Learn to read and understand PVsyst reports and other energy models. Maintain relationships with renewable energy major equipment (e.g., modules, inverters, racking, batteries, etc.) manufacturers to discuss issues, stay abreast of industry trends and opportunities. Site Visits Coordinate or attend Bay4 site visits to verify project construction progress or completion according to specified benchmarks as well as review operating status. Ensure the project site adheres to technical and environmental requirements. Validate as built construction.Working Relationships
This position reports directly to the Director – Renewables. This position serves as a technology specialist and will lead teams and provide support to others on the Bay4 Energy team.
Compensation:
The initial compensation will range between $77,969 and $85,000
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in science-based field such as engineering, construction management, or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Years of Experience: Three years of relevant renewable energy experience, which could include design, development, construction, or operations. Preferred Experience: Electrical photovoltaic design experience preferred. Familiarity with design, and installation. Familiarity with off-take arrangements. Experience in estimating. Experience with electrical theory. Licenses/Certification: OSHA 30 Software/Equipment Knowledge: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Teams Basic knowledge of equipment fundamentals including modules, inverters, racking, batteries, fire suppression systems, transformers, control systems/SCADA, and metering. Other Considerations: Proven project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery Able to think and act strategically Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing Strong organizational skills Strong ability to multitask Strong technical writing and analytical skills Able to analyze complex data and provide strategic insights Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills History of using sound judgment to make decisions and set priorities. Self-starter; able to work independently and as part of a team Able to travel for work as needed (10-25%)Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This is a full-time position that requires 40 working hours a week. We offer a flexible hybrid work schedule, including allowing for working remotely or in the office.
Extended hours will likely be required from time-to-time during business travel or to accommodate clients’ project schedules. Because the position requires both in office and on-site work, the physical requirements include the ability to sit for long periods of time, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and ability to handle long periods of screen time.
In addition, travel may be required to meet client or project requirements. Work may be performed on industrial sites when traveling, requiring protective clothing and equipment, ability to climb ladders, stairs and stand for long period of times.
