The role of the Assistant Purchasing Manager

Act as a team leader of Storeroom clerks to ensure that the storerooms run smoothly and efficiently; manage day to day receiving operation; organize maintain a good balance between par levels of inventory items and on hand quantities in accordance to business needs.

Manage the food purchasing program and control all inventories; raise purchase orders per business needs; support the Director of Purchasing and/or Director of Finance in any other purchasing related projects, as needed.

Skills and Requirements

Experience of at least two years full-time employment in a similar positionExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredHigh School education or equivalent experience required; college degree preferredExcellent computer skills neededCost control/analysis experience needed
