Summary: Performs same duties as Purchasing Manager. Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization when the Purchasing Manager is absent by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)\n\nPlans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the implementation of the corporate contracts. May enter information into Navision and validating its correctness.\nOrganizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.\nPrepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs after an inventory is taken.\nReviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.\nPrepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.\nOversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.\nInterface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier quality. Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specification changes.\nWork with Controller to make sure the Finance Policy 2100 is followed.\nWork with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.\n\n

Qualifications\n\nProven experience in purchasing department\nExperience in shipping and receiving\nFamiliarity with supply chain and inventory management systems\nUnderstanding of forecasting and budgeting\nWorking knowledge of Navision\nProficient in MS Office\nExcellent organizational and leadership skills\nA problem-solver\n\n

Education and\/or Experience \n
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and\/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n
