Job Description

This role will be responsible for Radiation Office functions for the Ohio Department of Health Broadscope type A Radioactive Material-use license to ensure P&G R&D maintains its regulatory compliant radiation safety program.

Job Responsibilities include:

Lead the RSO daily operations for the radioactive material (RAM) as the Assistant Radiation Safety Officer or Radiation Safety Officer including the generally licensed sealed source program,Create and submit regulatory reports (ODH, USEPA, Program Reviews, DFP, Audit Reports, Exposure Reports etc.)Perform and document laboratory audits/surveys for radioactive material laboratoriesManage the exposure program including the monthly swipe programCollect and document LLRW/DKIS for the RAM program as well as set up off-site transfer of LLRW to appropriate brokersManage RAM dosimetry/exposure program including the monthly RAM dosimetersMaintain RSO RAM lab equipment (LSC, meters etc.) and RSO RAM SOP documentation/program documentationBackup all aspects of the other 2 Radiation Safety programs (X-ray and Sealed Sources)Order, ship and receive radioactive material off/on the license.Manage the Generally Licensed Sealed Source safety program.

Job Qualifications

Required

B.S. / M.S. preferably in Health Physics, Engineering, Biology or Chemistry with experience with radioactive materials.Experience in radiation safety program management including an understanding of the Ohio Department of Heath radiation protection regulations (3701: 1-38, 1-68, & 1-46) as well as applicable EPA, NRC, FDA and OSHA regulations.Ability to apply their technical background to establish and enforce program/policy including the ability to interrupt regulations and recommend policy changes to the Radiation Safety Committee and P&G management.DOT Class 7 hazmat training and experience shipping and receiving package containing radioactive material.Experience with documentation for radiation safety programs including writing SOPs, reports and manuals, as well as application skills in Word, Excel and SharePoint.Experience with regulatory agency communication including leading regulatory inspections with appropriate follow-up.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000
