What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Recreation Manager to lead the training and development of our recreation team. The ideal candidate excels at fostering a culture of safety and service, using data and metrics to ensure consistent performance. What You Will Do:

Assists with the management of operations and staff of all Recreation, Fitness Center, and Safety Program, ensuring complete compliance with hotel safety, service, and grooming standardsActs as the Recreation Manager in their absenceOversees the operation of the swimming pool areaOversees the pool programs such as towel issue, retail sales at the pool, and pool concierge programsInterviews and recruits all Recreation, lifeguard employees and Recreation vendorsReviews and submits vendor contracts to Hotel Manager’s approval prior to the hiring and scheduling of an activityEstablishes, ensures adherence to all departmental and Loews Hotels guidelines, policies, and proceduresEvaluates changes in guest needs, the hotel’s guest mix, and industry and competitive trends to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes to be made to ensure guest and employee satisfaction, and to maintain market dominance and exceptional financial returnsPrepares seasonal recreation activity schedules and participates in the planning and development of holiday and special event programsEnsures proper posting of activities and special event informationMaintains optimal staffing levels within forecasted budgetary guidelinesCompletes appropriate shift reportsReviews/maintains daily payroll records/reportsEvaluates individual employee performance, determining improvement and training needs and advancement requirementsCommunicates information about hotel and recreation programs to all guest contact departments to facilitate greater utilization and to promote incremental revenuesEnsures that all recreation programs are executed in accordance with all hotel and safety guidelinesInspects the general appearance and functionality of all activities/recreation spaces including sanitation, temperature, lighting, and musical elementsResponsible for accurate recording and submittal of payroll informationSchedules and coordinates monthly recreation staff meetingsMaintains the clean and excellent working condition of the following areas:  pool deck, game room, and any other hotel space set up for a planned recreational activityManages directly and ensure compliance of Aquatics Training ProgramOther duties as assignedNotifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significanceComplies with Loews Hotels uniform and grooming guidelines

Required:

Minimum one year of recreation/aquatics supervisory experienceMust be able to swim and be comfortable in and around water for an entire shiftMust be able to complete and maintain current Lifeguard certification to include written and practical examsExcellent communication skills-oral and writtenStrong leadership skillsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysMust complete monthly in-service training requirementsMust hold clean motor vehicle driving record upon requestHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred:

Associate’s degree in a related field3 or more years of experience in training and/or the recreation or pool function.Licensed Lifeguard Instructor certification.
