JMT's Sylva Construction Management Team is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to be responsible for managing the administration of a major highway construction project in Western North Carolina. This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Manage the administration of NCDOT central let contracts Responsible for project QA/QC in the assigned region Maintains and builds client relationships Hire, train, develop, and conduct performance reviews for staff Supervises contract construction work, establishment of engineering controls for the contractor, and inspection of the construction project Works with other NCDOT Departments, the public and local government officials

Assists design disciplines with constructability questions/issues Perform other related duties as assigned
