We’re just built to be better. We are a great company. We are seeking an **Assistant Resident Engineer/Materials Representative** to join our Sacramento, CO team! Come join us! **Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Creates drawings, specifications, contract documents to be used for construction, and conducting engineer studies. + Attends project planning meetings, provides project estimates and work plans for construction activities. + Provides technical project management for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost. + Conducts engineering investigations and plans work by completing tasks which may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of engineering calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions. + Works on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; and observes construction procedures. + Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations. + Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations. + Performs field observations of construction/fabrication where appropriate. + Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. + Providing leadership and mentoring for less experienced engineers. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. **Minimum requirements:** + B.S.E Civil Engineering - EIT required + Minimum 3-5 years’ work experience in similar role + Good interpersonal skills + Prior leadership experience a plus **Technical requirements:** + E.I.T. Required - B.S. in Civil Engineering or other Engineer Field Required + Valid California Driver’s License Required + 2-3 years professional experience preferred; one year of experience required with a Master’s Degree in Engineering. + Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies + Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and AutoCAD + Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues + Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision + Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision + Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment **Compensation:** $50 - $70 hourly The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law.
