Assistant Residential Manager
Weinberg Commons, a department of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Residential Manager for our Residential Program. Primary Responsibilities: To work with the Residential Manager in overseeing a residential program. Assist in maintaining the health, safety and wellbeing of all individuals. To ensure compliance with all State licensing regulations including Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Department of Human Services (DHS) and Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (JFED) policies and procedures. Specific Responsibilities: + Works with Residential Manager to oversee a residential community, where individuals can live a safe and healthy life, with opportunities for meaningful participation in the community. + Monitors all aspects of the individuals’ supported life and wellbeing. This includes but is not limited to cooking, cleaning, transporting, assisting with hygiene and other IADLs, medical appointments, medication administration, community and recreation activities. + Assists with the onboarding of Direct Professional Staff and ensures compliance with all State, JFED and licensing requirements. + Ensures compliance with JFED policy and procedures and ensures DSP’s are completing shift responsibilities. + Assists with monitoring residential spending to ensure compliance with budget. + Performs staff training and ensures that DSPs complete mandatory training in the designated time frame. + Performs program documentation audits, including but not limited to, medication administration records, medications, and monthly fire drill forms on a routine basis. + Monitors maintenance of housing kitchen appliances and fire/safety equipment and reports malfunctions to designated personnel. + Monitors maintenance of transportation vehicles and reports need for vehicle service to Program Coordinator or designated personnel. + Ensures the accuracy of the disbursement and documentation of individuals’ finances, as needed. + Monitors health and medical needs of individuals. + Assists the individuals in developing a support network within the community. + Assists with social and recreational activities within the community and program. + Submit monthly written reports covering operational status, as well as individual progress and concerns to supervisor. + Attend conferences, seminars, and training relevant to the position. + Attend management and all staff meetings as required. + Adjust schedule as needed based upon the needs of the program. + Work in ratio with individuals as needed. + Complete walk through of program and start of shift and end of shift to ensure quality, health and safety, and compliance. + Completes Unusual Incident Reports and Internal Incident Reports and communicates to appropriate personnel. + Complete assigned managerial duties in the short-term absence of a Residential Manager. + Perform duties as assigned by a supervisor. Requirements: + Associates/bachelor’s degree, high school diploma, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience    + 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities in a residential setting, knowledge of person-centered planning and community resources for individuals with disabilities. Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion and compassion. + Ability to communicate effectively with written and oral language. + Ability to handle pressure in a crisis and demonstrate good judgement, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.  + Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to work independently. + Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey with clean driving record + Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire prior to working with individuals served. + Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities  + Shall submit to drug testing and receive a clear drug screen prior to employment. + Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.  + Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).   + Must be vaccinated for Covid -19 or meet criteria under both DHS/CDC guidelines. + Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training, including but not limited to specialized trainings, online trainings, CPR and crisis management. + Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.  + Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and problem solving with individuals with disabilities and their families.    EEO Statement: The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, and our family of agencies, is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
