Assistant Security Manager

Description: The Assistant Security Managers is an experienced security professional who assists their regional manager with the coordination and delivery of services to protect Fidelity’s associates, customers, and property. This individual is able to deliver on Global Security Operations’ objectives through their ability to communicate effectively, understand their site’s risk landscape, and engage and execute on key initiatives for Security and the firm while exercising good judgement. This individual is a meaningful associate-facing Brand Ambassador for Global Security Operations and will ensure that their team exudes integrity and provides outstanding customer service at their site!

The Expertise We are Looking For / The Expertise You Have:

Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree a plus 3-5 years’ experience in an operational and technical security environment Prior experience in a supervisory role; preferably in a security/life safety setting EMT or other relevant certifications (CPP, CFE, CBCP) a plus

The Skills You Bring:

Knowledge of security principles (incident management, life safety, investigations, workplace violence and threat assessment) Expertise using current Security technology and systems Proficient with standard computer applications and ability to learn specialized programs/applications Demonstrated knowledge of physical security principles Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under ambiguous circumstances Stakeholder and relationship management (communicates effectively with senior security leadership, site/business unit leadership, business partners, and public safety agencies) Vendor management (ensures assigned vendor resources are performing to contract standards)

Responsibilities/The Value You Deliver:

Effectively leads a team of proprietary and contract security representatives in partnership with regional manager Assists with crafting and maintaining a schedule to ensure coverage while managing staffing costs and overtime; ensures appropriate state of readiness through training & coaching of team members Using electronic and mechanical devices to monitor, record, and report abnormal conditions; may assist with initial investigative steps and analysis of data to identify trends Interacting with associates, visitors, vendors, and customers in a professional manner while enforcing company rules, standards, and policies Rendering 1st responder services during emergencies in a calm, deliberate manner within the scope of your training – is primary decision maker / incident commander in absence of regional manager Enforces corporate and site-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to operational, physical, and technical security management Champions training and life safety programs for their site Engages effectively on cross-organizational projects and scales global initiatives for your site Delivers effective local awareness programs and supports broader global security awareness initiatives crafted to educate associates on workplace safety and security standards Review regional incident reports and recommend and track required follow up
