THE JOB:

Step into an exciting leadership role at MGM Grand as a Security Assistant Shift Manager! In this pivotal position, you’ll oversee a team of security professionals, ensuring smooth operations and top-notch performance while fostering a positive and supportive workplace.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Team Management: Oversee security officers and dispatchers, including scheduling, work assignments, station coverage, and performance evaluations. Administer progressive discipline when necessary.

Team Development: Build and develop high-performing teams of both security officers and dispatchers through interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, and conducting performance reviews. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, recognition, and mutual respect.

Safety and Security: Oversee guest and employee safety by implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures. Act as a liaison with external agencies during security incidents.

Investigations: Assist in onsite investigations and coordinate security-related processes.

Guest Services: Address guest questions and concerns promptly, either personally or by directing them to the appropriate department or management.

Incident Response: Respond to emergencies and threats, document incidents, and ensure proper escalation for reporting and resolution.

Manage Workers' Compensation: Ensure employee accident reports are accurately completed and filed for workers' compensation claims.

Dispatch Operations Oversight: Supervise dispatchers, ensuring effective communication and coordination between field officers and dispatch operations during incidents and routine duties.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Age: Must be 21 years or older.

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience. 

Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience, including direct security experience in a resort/casino environment or law enforcement/military. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.

Certifications: Must successfully complete and pass a CPR/AED response simulation, obtain and maintain a valid gaming license, acquire an alcohol awareness card, and provide a valid driver’s license at the time of employment.

Availability: Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Operational Experience: Previous experience as a Field Training Officer (FTO), Security Dispatch, or Assistant Shit Manager (ASM), demonstrating the ability to coordinate security operations, train new personnel, and efficiently manage communication in high-stress situations.

Strong Customer Service Orientation: Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service, effectively addressing guest concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner, while maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor.

Resort/Hotel Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a resort or hotel environment, including knowledge of guest services standards, property layout, and emergency procedures.
