PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Signalman/Assistant Signalman manages the maintenance and construction of wayside signals and crossing signals.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Installing, maintaining and dismantling signal structures and components such as foundations, equipment housing, cable and switches; digs, fills and tamps holes and trenches; climbs poles and ladders Operates non-power hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, files, wrenches, pliers, shovels, picks, axes, cutters and sledgehammers.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience and ability to work outdoors related construction Some experience with operates heavy equipment to handle unreels and installs wires and cables overhead and underground. Electrical experience preferred Up to 50% travel may be required Must possess a valid drivers' license and/or CDL license or ability to acquire Candidates are required to have a High School diploma or equivalent experience, be at least 18 years old. Candidates must have he ability to read and understand basic information and data provided in our rule books, timetables, special instructions, and circuit plans.
