Assistant Store Manager (Running Lab), adidas Robson Retail Store (#2068) - Vancouver, BC

Purpose:
 

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic Assistant Manager, Running Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports science, biomechanics, or a related field, along with practical experience in coaching or personal training. A passion for running, coupled with expertise in footwear and biomechanics, is essential for success in this role. Additionally, technical proficiency, particularly with IT equipment, is highly desirable. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 
 

Engage with consumers to introduce them to our in-store running experience and encourage participation in test runs. 

Track and report on key performance metrics related to test run participation and sales conversions. 

Provide expert guidance and advice to customers on all aspects of running, including training techniques, injury prevention, and biomechanics.  

Drive sales by effectively communicating the benefits of our products and services to customers. 

Stay current on industry and company trends, research, and best practices related to running, biomechanics, and sports science. 

Maintain a high level of customer service by responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner. 

Accountable for the seamless execution of in-store activations events, in collaboration with the CEM, VM, and Retail Operations MGR 

Positively communicates and role models the adidas Brand Values. 

Take full ownership of key performance indicators relevant to stages of consumer engagement and own performance 

Any other duties as assigned by the Running Expert Manager
 

Qualifications: 

Deep knowledge in sports science, kinesiology, physiotherapy, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus. 

Proven experience as a personal trainer, coach, or running specialist. 

In-depth knowledge of running biomechanics, footwear technology, and training principles. 

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with customers and colleagues. 

Excellent networking skills and customer relationship management 

Has a background in retail sales and/or in a customer service facing role 

Passion for running and a commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. 

Technical proficiency with IT equipment and familiarity with fitness tracking devices and software are a plus. 

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment 

Has local knowledge of sporting events and city sporting events and is able to communicate them effectively to their team as unique selling points for products and services 

Has sound product knowledge of both Adidas & 3rd party products. 

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

 

Proficient retail knowledge – operational and selling skills. Retail business management skills (fiscal and operational). Proficient skills in coaching and talent management. Ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.    Ability to read and communicate effectively. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, customers, and the general public. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through multiple lines of communication. Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to quickly learn new systems (e.g. POS systems, web-portals, etc.). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 12 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 kg. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings and statutory holidays.  Also able to work extra hours during peak sales periods which include, but are not limited to, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Back-to-School. The understanding of in-store retail operations and all cash procedures. Understanding of all pertinent government legislation applicable to retail establishments.

 

The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
