Job Description

A leading construction firm in Westchester County, NY specializing in heavy civil projects seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent. The role involves supporting the Superintendent in managing and overseeing all aspects of site work, including excavation and grading, drainage, utilities, foundation, roads, pavements, sidewalks, and curbs. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience in construction management and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the Superintendent in managing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring alignment with project plans and timelines.Supervise and coordinate site work, including excavation, grading, drainage, utilities, foundation, roads, pavements, sidewalks, curbs, and other heavy civil construction activities.Support Superintendents in supervising field operations and labor forces, ensuring jobsite safety, quality, project schedule, safe work plans, and material procurement.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols, project specifications, and industry standards.Maintain accurate project documentation and records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety reports.Coordinate contractor's field efforts to verify compliance and ensure smooth project execution.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety on the job site.Identify and address any potential issues or delays, providing solutions to keep the project on track.Communicate effectively with the project team, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns.Essential Skills1-4 years of experience in construction management with a focus on site work.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.Strong understanding of construction safety principles and best practices.Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, P6, and MS Office.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of Westchester County DPW, DEP, DDC, and other government agencies.Experience with ConED is a plus.OSHA 30 certification.Experience in project coordination, RFI, and construction safety.Work Environment

The role involves working both in an office and on-site in a field office. The team comprises 250+ field workers and 40+ office staff. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
