This position is responsible for coaching the Hershey Country Club Swim Team through practices, 6 interclub meets, and one championship meet.
Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Duties include assisting the Head Coach in managing the team.
Conducting practices
Providing instruction on strokes, starts, and turns
Encouraging/motivating each swimmer, regardless of ability.
Assisting Head Coach in managing home and away meets; conferring with the Swim Team Parents Committee.
Coordinating swim team activities with the Pool Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of applying.
This position may provide care, supervision, guidance, or control of children or may have regular, ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. As a result, in accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, newly hired candidates are required to obtain the following clearances: a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI). Completed clearances are required to be submitted prior to starting employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum of 1 year experience as a swim coach preferred.
Job Demands:
This is a seasonal position available for the summer season beginning in May.
Applicants that are currently certified through American Red Cross or other Certification programs, are eligible to apply.
Must be available from Mid-May through Mid-July. Practices start in June 5:00 PM-8:00 PM in the evenings until school is out. Then switch to 9:00 AM -12:00 PM when school is out. Swim meets are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 PM starting June 14 through July 8th.
