Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Teaching Professor of Economics starting January 17, 2025.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching evidenced by peer and student evaluations; have experience and/or interest in teaching and curricular development in on-line or hybrid formats; and have corporate or consulting experience in US organizations and an interest in building relationships with business partners and other external stakeholders. As the department has a rich portfolio of programs, we seek candidates who can be effective in teaching across all programs -- both introductory and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in multiple modalities ((in-person, asynchronous, or synchronous online) based on departmental needs. Teaching Faculty are responsible for teaching eight courses each year, student advisement, and professional development.
This will be a one and one-half year, ten-month appointment through June 30, 2026, with eligibility for reappointment based on established NTTP procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must hold with relevant degrees, such as a MA in Economics or MBA with an Economics background.
Ph.D. or ABD are preferred.
Required teaching experience, especially in the specific area of economics (Macroeconomics and Microeconomics).
Effective candidates should have a clear approach to engaging students and conveying complex economic concepts.

The Department of Economics offers a BA in Economics, a minor in Economics, and a concentration in Asset Management. Separately, the department supports the MBA Program in teaching both required and elective graduate level courses in economics.
