The position is full-time academic year, non-tenure-track, limited to 06/27/2026 with anticipated renewal.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for teaching 12 credits of marketing and other business courses per semester. Participate in area and College level meetings. Enhance student learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all work necessary to prepare and deliver 12 credits of marketing course credits per semester, including use of the URI Learning Management System (Brightspace).

Responsible for advising undergraduate students on their curriculum plans.

Participate in College and area meetings and business, including assessment, associated with delivering curriculum for business degrees.

Individuals must be academically or professionally qualified at the time of hire and maintenance of academic or professional qualifications is required. Professionally qualified individuals must have professional experience relevant to the teaching assignment significant in duration and level of responsibility.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

1) Master’s degree or higher in business, or related discipline, from an AACSB-accredited school.

2) Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

3) Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate students (examples of evidence include past teaching experience; or successful presentations in person; or business experience running workshops; or other roles and experiences).

4) Demonstrated expertise in marketing.

5) Professional experience relevant to the teaching assignment that is within the past five years, significant in duration, and significant in level of responsibility.


PREFERRED:

1) Demonstrated success in instruction of business students or business professionals.

2) Five years of business experience at the managerial level or above. Examples of desirable professional experiences within the past five years include brand manager or director, marketing manager or director, product manager, chief marketing officer, VP of marketing, or other senior level executive roles.

3) Experience advising, coaching, or mentoring business students or business professionals.

4) Interest in developing critical thinking and professional skills in students.

5) Experience teaching marketing.

6) Interest in mentoring Honors students.

7) Ability to teach graduate students (examples of evidence include past experience teaching graduate students; or business experience running workshops for business professionals).

8) A strong professional network of prospective guest speakers and a commitment to ongoing engagement with marketing industry leaders (examples of evidence include membership in professional organizations; participation in professional conferences, community outreach, or industry panels; professional or leadership development; or other recent industry-related networking experiences).

9) Interest in and ability to teach specialized marketing classes such as healthcare marketing, integrated marketing communications, or integrated marketing communications.
