Posting Number: 20231083F Position Title: Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Engineering Position Type: Faculty Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/9-months Department: 204-Electrical and Computer Engineering Position Summary: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Computer Engineering starting in August 2024. Candidates are sought who can contribute to and lead the growth of the Computer Engineering program and teach courses in the broad areas of computer engineering and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will also be able to define and lead multidisciplinary Capstone design projects, participate in the advising of thesis projects and engage with a recently established state-of-the-art Cyber-Physical Systems Security Lab.

Duties and Responsibilities: Candidates with expertise in computer engineering and cybersecurity systems are preferred. The teaching load is on average 12 contact hours per semester the graduate and undergraduate level. The prospective faculty member is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity and the computer engineering field, including cryptography and network security, operating systems, computer forensics, and cyber-physical systems security. Other duties include contribution to the undergraduate and graduate curricula, laboratory development, and supervision of Capstone design projects. Candidates are expected to participate at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate ECE programs when needed. Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in teaching and developing new courses in areas of specialization preferred.
