ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In tandem with the Team Leader, provides employees with tools, information, knowledge, and support to meet production goals In tandem with Team Leader, always maintains a safe working environment and responsible for maintaining awareness of the plant and reporting any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader. Follows and enforces all employees are following and PPE policies Partners with Team Leader on process changes and continuous improvement projects. Approachable, Listens, and Encourages to ensure a positive culture; Creating a great place to work Assists with training, performance reviews, and disciplines of team members if the Team Leader is unavailable Communicates and involves appropriate support departments when needed Meets and maintains quality measures and safety measures including housekeeping of production line. Responsible for preventing quality issues from leaving the facility/plant. Ensure consistent adherence to all company policies and procedures on the production floor. Give constructive feedback to employees to enhance one’s capabilities and skills on the team. Maintains a current working understanding of the Company product line to include the specifications and required testing for each product. Constantly works to maintain a high degree of morale, safety, and pride in the department in order to increase employee retention. Communicates employee concerns to department Team Leader. Promotes and maintains positive, cooperative working relationships with all plant personnel.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned this classification. EDUCATION
High School Diploma 2-years related technical or 2-years on the job training Passed all four of NPP's Internal Skills Enhancement Certification program.EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS PREFERRED
Supervisory experience preferred but not required Strong working knowledge of the plastics manufacturing production process, extrusion machinery and related quality requirements. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in plastics manufacturing and extrusion operations. Ability to multi-task, remain organized, problem solve, and prioritize daily responsibilities Ability to coach/mentor team members in a manner conducive to efficient performance and high morale. Ability to effectively communicate; both verbal and written Ability to operate general office equipment including manufacturing related applications on a microcomputer. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with others and to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively with other departments and foster a participative/team-oriented environment.
