Job Description:
This is technical services work in performing engineering support duties under general supervision. The position is responsible for the review of traffic data from the Continuous Count Sites (CCS) derived from Traffic Signals and the State of Maine Weigh in Motion (WIM) Sites. This position will perform daily quality checks for questionable data flagged by the data management software, determine its validity and look for any events that may have impacted traffic. This person will update the field technician and ITS personnel of possible equipment failures identified in the review process. This position will assist with work at CCS locations and may be required to perform Short Duration Counts (SDC) including but not limited to the setting of Turning Movements and weekly coverage counts. Review and editing of hourly count data which provides Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) estimates for the department. This position will also aide in the in the monthly FHWA WIM submittals and in the review of the traffic model where AADTs are flowed throughout Maine DOTs Road network .
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Three (3) years of experience in engineering or a related technical field–OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
