The Administrative Assistant to the Dean is responsible for an administrative area supporting complex programs. The tasks are broad in scope. They include working within procedures that can be clearly defined but also responding to issues that may have no immediate solutions. The Assistant to the Dean must be able to initiate a wide range of activities to ensure that services and program deadlines are met. They will direct the work of department work study students to ensure that academic program areas are supported. **Salary Range:** $20.45 - $27.12 **Minimum Qualifications** + Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely and accurate manner. + Word processing skills to develop and modify a variety of correspondence, records and reports. + Customer service experience sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written correspondence. + Document and records management sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information. + Ability to present information to a diverse population. **Preferred Qualification** + Thorough knowledge of college policy, especially relating to the academic policies. + Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to maximize use of time available and college resources. + Ability to develop timelines and priorities for complex projects. + Ability to maintain confidentiality standards. + Proficiency in use of the English language (speaking, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and business letter construction). + General understanding of curriculum and degree requirements. + Maintain a professional decorum reflective of a team approach to college and student success. **Other Requirements** In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
